I’m just so happy that “Alice”, “Perfect Strangers”, & “Step by Step” are getting released in a timely manner.

Now, I wish Warner Archive would get to work on “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”.

I don't think they are doing it to save money on discs. The reason for DVD-R's Is to avoid mass amount of unsold pressed discs since they usually need to make a large run. I think its been well established that Warner Archive uses high quality media over the past 10 years. Very few complaints about failure plus since they will replace failed discs purchased from them anytime it would make no sense to use cheaper media and burning standards which would increase the number of replacements. I haven't bought that many DVD-R from MGM or Sony so I'm not sure their standards are as high but we can buy from WAC as risk free as any disc made.

Well, avoiding a "mass amount of unsold pressed discs" is actually itself a cost-saving measure - though it's a savings more on storage costs than unsold stock.

I can't speak to WAC discs as I don't do burned media but I'm glad issues are minimal. However that could conceivably change should the program's revenue drop at some future time. That was really my point.

I hope CBS has plans for The Beverly Hillbillies, and The Love Boat (1 season a year will be fine) and Gunsmoke seasons released twice a year.

If they are, then maybe we'll complete that long 20-year Western yet!

Great, great news about another season of Gunsmoke. And hopefully this indicates that CBS is going to pick up the pace of the releases a little bit going forward.

There'll probably be some, as soon as CBS completes Gunsmoke (and I'm ever hoping they do, albeit I was never the fan of that 1955-75 CBS classic Western).

I would love it, but it seems that is a series that truly stalled.

And it was going so well (each of its volume releases chock-full of bonuses)!

My mom still watches that in reruns but when I told her it and other shows like it were on DVD, she didn't seem to care.

I take it she'd rather have it with commercials than otherwise?

Sometimes I actually don’t mind commercials because it allows time to get up and get a snack or for a bathroom break.

I like to go outside and jog around my circle drive every time a commercial break comes on during “Days of our Lives”.

Then, commercial breaks can be useful (otherwise, not)!
